Officiating

Sports officiating has long been a hobby of mine.  I started with hockey at the age of 12, eventually picking up fastpitch softball, football and basketball.  It's a great way to stay involved with sports, get some exercise and be a part of the game rather than just watching.  For me, it is much of an escape as anything else.  I can focus on the game and let all other concerns and stresses fall away.

Football
Organization:  Washington Officials Association

Notes:  I picked up officiating football in 2001.  Since then I have been regularly assigned playoff games. I am also a crew chief, mostly working as a referee. For the last several years, I have also served on the local association's board of directors.

Softball

Highest Level:  College / NCAA
Notes:  I have three national championships under my belt, as well as several high school state championship tournaments. For the last several years, I have been working mostly NCAA games. I am also the vice president of our local umpires' association.

Hockey

Notes:  Hockey was my first sport and my first love.  In addition to working a great number of games, I managed a local officials organization for which I served as president and assigner.

Basketball

Notes:  I started working basketball in 2010, developing a new appreciation for a sport I never played. I regularly work high school varsity contests.
